| I recently purchased an X-190 that is a few years old. The livewell does not seem to be working right. It will fill with water about half way when I have it in the empty or auto position which is good. The livewell drains fine when I get the boat back on the trailer. The problem is the pump only seems to pump maybe 1 gallon per minute. It just pumps a really slow steady steam into the livewell. That is whether I have the boat in the water or I fill the livewell while on the trailer to test. I have tried 3 different pumps from 750 gpm to 800 gmp. I have tried 90 degree pumps and straight pumps. I have changed all the water lines and also the valve. All the lines do not have any dips in them for air to get trapped. Is this the way these livewells are designed? To fill halfway by themselves and then a slow fill the rest of the way. I feel like my livewell spray head should be spraying a hard stream to fill fast and keep recirculating and moving water throughout the livewell. Or do I have a problem that I am not seeing? | Is there a drain plug in the hole? If there was it shouldn't fill half way by its self? |

| There is no drain plug. If I keep the valve in the recirculation position, water does not enter the livewell. It will only enter when I want it to by having the valve in the empty or auto position. |

When you are filling the live well, have it in Auto. If you have it on empty, it will drain while filling, slowing the process.
There should be a healthy spray when in Auto. It would be the same rate as when you are in Recirc. If you have the EZ-Pump on the back, that allows you to fill when on plane. There is an overfill on the back side with a black plastic screen on it.
When returning to a weigh in with a limit of walleyes, I would take that screen off, and replace it with a plastic bag of the overfill. That way, I completely filled the livewell on plane, and limited sloshing and stress on the fish. When I came off plane near the weigh-in, I would switch the livewell to RECIRC. This kept it full with the freshest and coldest water.

What valve did you replace? Did you remove the spray head and make sure no debris or silicone is stuck in there? Is the spray head open all the way?
Try removing the spray head and see if the fill stream, which will shoot across the livewell, is stronger.
If you didn't replace or examine the valve that determines the setting, that may be the issue. Only two things between the water and the livewell, that valve and the spray head.
Make sure the hull fitting is clear as well.
The boat has an EZ pump covering the fill hole, which will force water through the system under power, hence the fill on empty or auto. It will not fill or drain on Recirculate. |

| It will fill about half way when the flow-rite valve is in the empty or auto position. It fills up through the drain hole. Im guessing because where the livewell sits in comparison to the water line, water is forced up. I might have to take the spray head fitting completely off the back of the livewell and see if it is clogged where the 90 degree turn is. I have taken the head off and it is clear. It is all the way open. When the spray head is off the fitting it will spray hard across the livewell but it is a very fine stream. So there is a lot of force but not any volume. |
