Location: Northwest Wi. | Last winter I was lucky enough to win a RevoT2BST50 with a 4.9:1 ratio at the M.I. banquet. It came with three handles, I am trying to figure which handle will retrieve line the fastest. I put on a DC-10 and tried all three but can't figure out which one is the fastest. They all seem to feel great for pulling in the 10's with out a lot of effort..Is there a speed difference in the handles? Or is it the amount of effort? I am new to the choice of handles game and did not do well in my Webster H.S physics class...

| First thing:
It's the same retrieve speed if the RPM of the handle is the same.
Second thing:
What feel best for you is what make the difference, but the 4.9:1 isn't really a high speed reel, so imo no need for the long power handle. I use the counter balanced handle, as i prefer the big handle knob, over the small on the double handle.

Location: Hayward, WI | Zinox is correct. If you spin the handle at the same RPM, there will be no speed difference.
The way it tends to work is a longer handle makes you "feel" less resistance, but due to the longer handle revolution distance, it's harder to spin it faster. So, a long handle "tends" to be slower and with less resistance than a short handle. For most baits with the 4.9 geared 50 size, the double paddle or balanced power handle will probably be a good fit, for most anglers. There's always differences and exceptions though.

Location: Northwest Wi. | Kind of what I got out of my tests..The farthest position on the power handle was the easiest to crank ,,but seemed to be the slowest. Thanks,,
