Anyone have any input on prop guards to avoid dings??? I thought this looked interesting..."Macs River Runner Prop Protector". I've heard that loss of performance can be an issue but my 2003 60hp on a 16.5' deep v is hardly a performance rig anyway so I can deal with that.

Thanks,
Jaimy

I used one on a 25hp Merc and found it caused the prop to lose it's "Grip" (for lack of a better term). Since this was my river boat where going upstream with out losing control was critical I quickly removed it. With your larger motor this might not be the case but my advice is to make sure that doesn't happen before you find yourself sideways in a REALLY bad spot -
