Hello. In the stained waters that I fish, I have a difficult time seeing my bait as it comes in for a figure 8. I mainly use baits with a bright color on their backs to help but I would often like to use other colors. Thought this would be the place to ask.
Do you have any advice on how to add a dot or streak of color to baits with a dark back? Something permanent would be preferred. I do not have an airbrush unfortunately. I mostly use HI suicks, 9" sledge, super shad raps, and various cranks.

I save the reflective tape from my lures eyes and use that on top of my lures. I also think it throws off reflection on sunny days...and it sticks well!

So you are just putting this directly on the lures finished surface. Clear coat epoxy or anything over it? Last year I tried "CS coatings: vinyl lure and jig finish". It came right off. Any specific paint you guys might recommend?

Go to a fishing tackle store and buy some bright/flashy spoon tape for salmon and trout and cut it into strips and apply. The other option is making a stencil out of cardboard and spray painting it with waterproof/outdoor paint. Neither will last forever but will last a few seasons.
If at night you can do the same with glow tape or glow in the dark spray paint. Its a lot easier to fish at night if you can see your lure.

3M diamond tape works well. Its the same stuff they have on road construction barrels and navigation buoys. still reflects some light in the day and low light conditions like when fishing in Guinness color water. T Bros sells it and Ebay is a better priced option.
pic is of lure using no flash and in a dark, very low light area area.
