What the major diffrences in lakemaster versions. Just more maps, better maps. I just bought a version 3 used and its great. I have bird 997 n 859. Both have new upgrades as of last spring. Howugh better is version 6

They have lake list for old versions on the website. You can compare the version 3 list to the newest and see what lakes were added or updated to HD.

Also you need a 5 or 6 to use I pilot link. I wouldn't worry about them being better, just if one got hd mapping done or a new lake was added. I would t think they will fix errors on any maps.

Pretty much. Another difference is the 6 is a micro chip, in a normal sd adaptor.

I was talkin to a guy from Madison n he said his version 6 wouldn't work in his new 999. It looks like that unit should be compatible with chip. Didn't know if there's is diffrent chips. I know bird owns lakemaster but is there a chip for lowrance.
