Hi everyone...

Been toying with the idea of trying a different line this year, and primarily fishing very clear water suffix 832 in their ghost color has piqued my interest. I usually don't feel that line color is a huge determining factor in catch or follow ratios, but am interested in seeing if maybe....just maybe it makes a slight difference.

Looking for any feedback on suffix 832 in general and anything others have found with using ghost specifically. Fraying, knot strength, limpness, etc.... With ghost.... More follows/hits? Less follows/hits? No difference?

As with any colored line, it seems to fade or bleed, which is why ghost has me a little more intrigued as well...

Thanks everyone!!

Steve

I am a big fan of the ghost, I use it on most of my setups with Cortland bronzeback being the only other I use. No difference with follow or hits as far as I can tell?

don't give the fish that much credit imo... line color imo is a non factor...

Any other input from people? Color is not really the issue, but am just curious if others have any different experiences with it...

For 832 in general:
I like it a lot but haven't used many other braids for comparison. It's nice how it doesn't soak up water like other lines, and I find that it casts really well. Recently I had a reel spooled with Power Pro and it seemed to back lash way more than the same reel with Suffix 832. Can't quantitatively explain, but knot strength seems great and I don't notice excessive fraying at all. I'll go two seasons with a spool full of 832 and just strip 10' or so a couple times per season.

I did break off 80 lb test on a fish last year, first time that's happened. I don't blame the line though - operator error and result of circumstances more than anything.

832 is the best braid I have ever used. Not too hydroscopic, soft, casts well, good abrasion resistance, and casts like a dream. I've used it for about 7 years and tried many others that couldn't match it. For color? Muskie don't care

I like 832, I have the ghost on a NACL 60, it's nice stuff but I don't notice a difference.. However I put Hi Seas Grand Slam on my Revo Toro S and so far this stuff is really nice, super smooth.

I prefer line that I can see. Fish don't care.

I'm a longtime PowerPro fan. Last year I spooled a reel with 832 braid and, after a season of use, prefer it to PowerPro. I think it casts better, retrieves smoother, and holds much less water - a big plus for late season fishing.

I switched form power pro to 832 last year. its great! smooth and doesn't hold water. Highly suggest it.
