Location: North St. Paul, MN | Looking for some help here...Here's what info I'm looking for:
1. 5-6 hour drive from the twin cities.
2. walleye and pike fishing that business clients, that usually don't fish, would have no trouble catching ;o)
3. decent accommodations with a decent kitchen.
I'll be doing the cooking, guiding, etc. My big problem is finding something closer. I've flown in out of Dryden (don't want to do that drive), Ear Falls, Red Lake, and Sioux Lookout...All those are a probably too far of a drive.
If you have any suggestions out of those cities, awesome, I'd love to hear em. Walleye and Pike fishing...not muskies.
Thanks,

| Viking outposts is great. It is in red lake but they fly you out to their remote outposts. Every guy is in the 40" club for northerns every week and over 28" for walleyes. they have about 15 different lakes to choose from and you will be the only cabin on that lake or flowage. my Family has been going for over 15 years and has always fished lake rheaume its the most northernly lake they have and the nearest outpost or other cabin is 40 miles away. over 6 different lakes to fish uniform the main lake and the cabin by short portages with boats ready on the other side for you. every summer there is only about 80 people that fish this lake a summer so the fish will go for anything. I caught a 36" on a jig head with a labatt blue cap on it. by the middle of the week you'll be trying to rip your lure out of the water to get rid of the 30 and under northern. over 50 fish a day easily. This is the trip i look forward to every year just because of how amazing the fishing is.. really sucks to fish northern illinois and southern wisconsin when you come home. | |

x2 - They have some excellent lakes. Call Dave & chat with him, he'll put you where you want to be...... I would choose Mallette or Herod C&R Only - Because its trophy fishery - Dave will not let you bring any fish out. But with quality of replica's today, that shouldn't be an issue. Mallette also has lake trout...as a bonus to what you want. Fresh caught Canadian lake trout are wicked good breaded with ShoreLunch or your favorite breading and fried (I like Lily River's "Gramdmma's Breading"). They also make an awesome chowder...send me a PM, I'll give you my "camp chowder" recipe...
Have fun!
