  | Versatile Rod-I am searching for a rod for a trip to LOTW and beyond. I have a light bucktail rod(St. Croix Legend 1/2-2oz. lures) and a jerkbait rod(St. Croix Premier 1-5oz. lures). That is it outside of bass flippin' sticks. I need a rod to fill in the gap for heavy bucktails and crankbaits (big believers, jakes, etc.) as my main rod. Any advice. |

Location: oswego, il | You need the st. croix(avid or premere) 7' or 7'6" MH 3/4-3oz rod. It's what that rod was designed for. |

If you not hooked on St.Croix look at the Lamiglas GC6108. It is 6'10"
and its weight range is 4-10 OZ. It is designed for heavy jerkbaits and crankbaits.

  | I am pretty happy with my 8' AllStar XHeavy. Don't remember the model number off hand. Lifetime warranty for 120 bucks.

I just bought my first FigRig and absolutely love it. I'll definitely be getting more of those. |

I think it all depend on what you want to spend,

Practical=All Star 7'6" Xheavy, work well on big cranks, jake, buck, and spinner baits

Few More buck= Fig Rig, or Thorne Brothers 7'6" Xheavy blank, these are some sweet rods, just a matter of what fits your budget

Good luck

Location: Illinois-Indiana | Stick with the St. Croix, get yourself a 7'6" Heavy action rod, this will be the most versatile rod you have ever used. Great for big cranks and big bucktails.
If you have the extra money, get yourself an Avid, you wont be dissapointed. |

Location: Illinoise | I bought an 8' AllStar that I've been using for bucktails and gliders. It rocks. Try one out. |

Location: NeverNever Lake | I like the 7'6" ex-heavy AllStar, it ranks right up there with my $420.00 Diamondback of the same size.............................. |

  | I personally use a 6' lightning rod from berkley. This is the most versatile rod in my arsenal. I can throw big jointed rapalas and mepps 5 with no problem. Best rod for the money. |
