Location: north central wisconsin | My 5 year old Auto pilot just went kapoot(water got in the seal, and it runs really loud now. Instead of having it reconditioned, I am looking at going to a power drive(I don't use the auto pilot anyways) with the universal sonar. I use a vexilar up front. Has anyone used the universal sonar units? If so, have you had good luck with them? I run a vexilar up front, but don't see that you can run a vexilar with the new ones. What front unit do you recommend that is compatible with this unit(I hope my vexilar can be made compatible). Thanks much, Jason |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I used one exactly like that ;ast year, and really liked the unit. I am sure they cover Garmin, Lowrance, Eagle, Humminbird, and most of the 'major' brands with the transducer selection. Great motor! |

| Jason,
I bought a new Autopilot with the universal sonar two years ago and just hooked a Garmin 160 into it this year. I was sort of skeptical but it works great!!! The only thing that it will not give me is the water temp but that is because the gauge is built into the Garmin transducer and since I'm using the universal sonar transducer, it does not have capability for temps. I love the whole setup and have not really had any problems with the motor or the locator. I would say go for it!!!!!! Good luck............Todd |

Location: oswego, il | We have a 65 AP with the sonar and it works great. Just as good as the dash mount, same sonar. The only drawback is it does not have a temp sensor. |

| I just put a 65lb autopilot with the Universal sonar on my new boat and hooked it up to a Garmin 240. I love the motor, with the only drawback being the lack of temp. |
