| Webster:
Water temps in the 50's I hear,
DNR put nets in yesterday, should be hearing back later if they are in spawning condition.
Water is reported as murky.
I'll be opening the Lake house and putting the pontoon in on Friday, I'll update with conditions as I get reports.
Probably won't do much fishing this weekend, Wind is supposed to be pretty nasty Saturday.
Other Lakes:
Nothing reported yet...

| I planned on heading over Saturday. When is the egg take? Maybe I should fish the barbee chain or tippy. I thought even about trying skinner. |

| I believe it's an ongoing thing until they collect the number of eggs they need for the year. They have at least one holding enclosure I believe and they hold the big girls until they are ready to roll.
I've personally never fished Tippy or Barbee, I've had luck on Skinner though. Smaller water, may be able to work areas out of the wind. They're talking 30mph East winds starting late morning on Saturday.

| Yeah I see the wind it sucks but when that's the day you can fish I'll deal with the conditions. I can always troll if the wind is that bad. With a family when I can get out for a full day of fishing I go rain or shine. Thanks for the updates! Do you know how many nets they put out and where? Is it still fishable with the nets and egg take? I've heard the fish turn off for a while during and after the egg take. |

| The water is reportedly in the Lower 50's, they are taking some big girls but not large numbers. They have gathered 5 Quarts of eggs so far. These may just be early spawners, the full event may still be a little while off.
I talked to a guide today and he said the lake is still fishable during the netting, just stay clear of the nets themselves.
I didn't ask where they were, But based on previous years, I'd guess, they are on backwaters by the ramp, Webster, right before the tunnel, Echo Bay and the no wake zone leading up to the tunnel.
I've heard that right before and immediately after spawning can be good. I'll be out at least for a little while this weekend, Friday, Saturday Early and Evening and Sunday AM if I can get the work done on the boats Friday and get 'em launched.

| Update on Webster:
Water temps were 51-53F, 52 of the north end of the lake 53 in no wake zone leading to the backwaters.
I saw 3 DNR nets,
2x in Echo Bay, 1x in the no wake zone. There may be more in the Backwaters, but I didn't get back there.
I threw for about an hour at dusk and didn't move anything (not surprising). Weeds are not really up on the deeper edges, but are coming up in the shallows.

| Thanks my fishing partner bailed on me Friday said he didn't want to be miserable fishing Saturday. The morning would have been decent fishing but man that afternoon snow storm we got over our way was nasty!!! Guess I'll wait either till Michigan opener or if it warms soon I'll try to get over to Webster area. |

| Nothing from me at the moment, I'll let you know Friday, I'll probably be out most of the weekend.
Last I heard, the low temps had the water in the 50's still but that may change quickly over the next few days...
