shoot, either the format of the addresses or just Tony Albright's address are messing with my gmail account. Can't send with the addresses as listed.

EDIT: just removed all the single quotes and it sent.

Thanks for providing the list.

try this block...copy and paste: or break it up into 3 or 4 groups as some email programs won't allow that many addresses at once

I've received two positive responses from Jim Nash and Roz Peterson.

Jim's response also had a jpeg of a big musky he caught!

thanks to all that take the time... this isn't just about the new waters being stocked...if this goes thru reps could be pressured to push bills to stop stocking current lakes all over the state... sets a very bad precedent if this goes thru.... anyone that fishes muskies in MN should send them all an email in support of stocking muskies.

I also received a response from Jim Nash and Roz Peterson.

Bud Nornes replied as well. It was was a less than cordial response complaining about lakeshore property owners supplementing walleye stocking and the DNR not caring.

My email wouldn't take the list with commas. Here's the list with semi colons.

mostly the canned, generic reply, but this from Bud Nornes:
"This simply stops three lakes in my county from muskie stocking. The remaining muskie lakes will continue to be stocked.

Sent from my iPhone"

To which I replied:
"Thank you so much for responding. I see the bill has been revised from the version I read a couple weeks ago. My worries are that (A) this sets a precedent for homeowners on lakes, lakes associations, and really any special interest group to petition for whatever ecological picture they think is best for "their lake"; and (B) that the DNR fisheries and wildlife biologists are being undermined and overruled despite their research and scientifically-constructed plans. I just trust that the DNR is fully capable of deciding what's best for the lakes and for fishermen and has nothing but good intentions."

This just proves how little Bud actually knows about what's going on. The DNR is not trying to stock 3 lakes in Otter Tail county. They are trying to stock 1.

Sent to all, here is what I wrote,

Alcon,

I am sending this email in regards to the bills that have been introduced to effectively stop the further expansion of Muskie waters and stocking in MN lakes. I am an avid Muskie fisherman as are a lot of my friends. I have been fortunate to have many people in my boat experience their first Muskie catch, to include my 8 year old daughter who caught two this past fall. To say she was excited would be an understatement!!!!! I have also taken many Veterans out to catch their first. If you have not seen the look on someone's face and the sound of their voice it is hard to explain other than pure joy and disbelief that they just caught the biggest fish of their life. This bill is being pushed with much personal bias involved. The MN DNR has published studies on the effects of muskies in waters and they are being ignored by the public and some in legislature. The complaint that they are not native while in some cases is true, the same can be said for many stocked fish. Walleyes are stocked in lakes where they are not native and no natural reproduction takes place, yet these are a must in some circles because people like walleyes. Bass and trout have also been stocked just so people can catch fish that fight and that they may otherwise not have a chance to fish in their area waters. Yes it is true that we as Muskie anglers work towards a trophy fish status, but that is because they are a slow growing, and low density fish. Many of the great walleye lakes in MN also have Muskies. Please take my statement as well of all the other concerned Muskie anglers and sportsman when deciding on this bill. The MN DNR biologists should not be overruled just so that, and I use this nicely, a Pet Project can be pushed through to appease a certain stigma of the population. We as anglers need to work together and not fight among ourselves as well. Thank You for your Time
V/R Michael King

My email has been sent, and I've got a few others sending as well.

If you are in MN, figure out who your Rep is and send them an extra, more personalized email. It can't hurt. They are there for you, don't let them forget that.

I just want to point out that I buy my Walleye stamp every year. How many walleye did I keep last year.....zero.
