Canada trip next week

Heading to Rainy this weekend for our yearly trip. Any reports on water levels and weed growth? How's the border crossing been?

Also, have any of you had any luck with Gopher Baits? I like them a lot but the guy that I'm riding up with thinks that I might as well just attach a stick to the leader and use that. I'd like some back-up for my position.

Thanks,
Stu

My son was there a few days ago, fishing the MN side. He said the water levels were down, but not terrible, and the fishing for Pike was exceptional. Lots of 'Eyes, too. Head to the weeds in the back of Bleak Bay (TWO main coves) for Pike over 20#. CPR 'em!

Have there been any problems crossing the border? Any new regs or new stuff to be aware of?

I cross at Fort Frances at least once each week. Nothing new, except maybe a little faster. Coming back into the states has slowed down somewhat because they have a second person at each station looking into trunks and load areas. Nothing major...just a perusal.
