| So I've been through a few reels this off season trying to find the right one. I don't have anywhere near me that I can look at all of them so I'm resigned to ordering sight unseen and exchanging. I started with the Lexa 300 (too small) and on to the Calcutta 400D. My dream reel but thinking I may prefer something a little more low profile but bigger than the Lexa 300. Is a Revo Toro 60 substantially more comfortable to Palm than the Calcutta? I have smaller hands. How does the Revo 60 compare on size to the Lexa 400? And similarly, the Revo 50 to the Lexa 300? |

| Revo Toro S, Beast, or the older models, NaCl? I have all of them, except the Beast. I have smallish Donald Trump hands, and they are not hard to palm. The Toro S 60 has a taller frame for the spool (I believe the same frame as the Beast), but is narrower than the NaCl and older Toros. I have not held the redesigned Calcutta D out now, with the smaller palming side, but the old one was not as easy to palm as an NaCl or older Toro. The Toros are also more comfortable for me than the Lexa. Remember, much of your palming comfort is going to be related to what gearing you have vs what bait you are using, as well as rod power. With the Toro S in 5:4:1 nd 10s, I fight the rod (TI XH), but the reel is handling the blades easily. |

Location: Madison, WI | I have both the Lexa 300 and 400 and 3 nacl 60s. The nacl is significantly bigger than the Lexa 300 and a touch smaller than the 400. I like the shape of the Abus the best |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | The 400d is much more comfortable than a 60 revo. The revo 60 is very wide and not as easy to palm IMO. I sold my revos and use 400ds for everything except sucker fishing. I heard the beast and new S is narrower than the old revo toro though. |

| Can anyone comment on how the Revo 50 compares to the Lexa 300 or 400D? |

Location: With my son on the water | I had Revo 60s and took them back because they were uncomfortable to palm for me. We settled in on the Revo 50s, Curado 300, and Calcutta 300 TE. All these reels have more than enough line capacity, heck we put a backer on them. We had a Lexa 300 which is in the same size class as the previous mentioned reels but it wasn't as nice (smooth) as the Revos so we got rid of it.
We now have added the Beast 60 & Tranx to the line up and are in there own class.
To answer the OP question, the Revo 50 is great and there are lots of them for sale right now, parts are readily available and they are easy to work on. Many guys appear to be unloading them and upgrading to the Beast or S. |

Same here. I bought a NaCl as it felt great, and smooth. However, after fishing for a few hours I just did not like how it felt in my hand, and switched to the Shimano D series. I have a 3 and a 400 series and (for me) they are much more comfortable to palm. Post where you live, maybe someone will let you try their reels?? So many good reels, but which one is comfortable to you, only you can say. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Revo 60's are contoured to fit your hand while giving you line capacity. The toro 60 gets my vote no matter the model. |
