a while ago i saw an older model thorne bros rod with a telescopic rear handle and liked the idea ! anyone used this and is it possible to modify a one piece rod like that ????

Not sure about rod building or if you could convert a single piece. Tackle Industries, Okuma and Shimano all have telescoping rods though. They are convenient and can let you have a long rod and still keep your deck clear.

thanks, iknow of these makers, what i would like to do is make my classic jerk handle shorter when i wtd but extend the handle for the cast of heavyer baits ,i saw a rod for sale that was made that way and am curius how a telescopic is built !
