Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | It's soft water season for many of us in the southern reaches, so you that got out...how did you do?
My boat got out for about 5 hours, didnt see a #*^@ thing, broke 1 old trust lure and left a new one in a tree. Thanks Newbies! |

| Tried throwing from shore for a little bit to try out a couple of new reels. After my buddy snagged the second dock piling and I had to launch my son's rowboat to retrieve $50 worth of lures I gave up. Stuck my arm in the lake to the shoulder to get one and I'd guess the water was around 38F. I think I'll wait a couple weeks yet...
On the positive side, the Toro Beast rocks and the Indiana Muskie Alliance Lure Swap was great. Good bunch of folks out there...

Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Gorgeous mid march weather here in central Wi. River flow too fast and high just yet but should be good to go in a week or two. Got the boat out in the driveway, replaced the fuel filter, hooked up the flusher, and fired it up; smoked out the neighborhood(fogging mosquitoes). Spooled new line on the spinning reels. All set for the next warmup! |

Shoreline right near the castle/mansion on the right side as you go into Marie from Channel. Skinny tree among a few friends. 5" slammer twitch bait. She's yours if you can get it.

| Typically dont post my fishing results, but what the heck. I got out saturday and a super short morning on sunday. Saturday was solid for me. Got 4 and lost 2 others at the net. Was fishing solo so netting with a 9'6" is always intersting. 1st fish was caught in 1st 30 min of fishing right at moon 8:40. The rest were spread out through the day. Water temps main lake 46-47. Found warm water areas way up shallow that hit up to 53.5. All fish were caught in less than 5 feet and in water warmer than 49. 1st fish was biggest 45 then 41, 40 and a 39. The 2 i lost a net were may e 40ish? Saturday was central illinois and sunday went to a lake closer to home. Sunday got rained on but managed a 37ish fish? And also snagged a 45ish fatty in the gut. My sharp hooks ripped through its gut as i tried netting felt bad for scaring the fish so packed up and headed home to bake a lasgna and a cheesecake. So yeah fun day out for my 1st run. And hey averaging a EATING muskie every 1.85 hours or so of fishing this year.. not bad! I will try to post pics after posting this but for some reason it never works for me on here.

I haven't tried for muskies yet, but got the boat in on Lake Geneva for Trout on Saturday. First time messing with a downrigger. Got one shaker on a dipsy and that was that. Great to be back out on a beautiful day! |

| Up here in ND I have had the kayak out 3 times and the new boat out 3 days now, doing well on bass but the musky waters are still iced over. But hopefully this week most the lakes clear up.

Location: IL | Got out yesterday for a few hours, ended up sticking this 46" tank! Broke my rod on the hook set, so I ended up heading home after she was released.. Well worth it! Fishing solo so the pic isn't the best unfortunately.
