Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Somehow my new trailer from Tuffy requires an extraordinarily long transom saver. Anyone use one that they recommend? |

Looking for an upgrade over the chunk of wood currently serving in that role. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Have you looked at My-Wedge transom savers? Some people like them, some don't. But they are really easy to use. |

| Are you convinced that your trailer is set up correctly? The back bunk should go all the way to the transom on your boat. Sounds like your boat may be too far back on the trailer. |

| Check out MotorMate. This unit pretty much locks the mid shaft/lower unit to the motor mount itself. It really isolates the motor and reduces/eliminates the side to side shifting of the stick type transom savers.
I ran the old style until last year and my boat got the acid test of being towed from Indy to Hayward around I-294 and the alphabet roads of WI on its first trip. Very impressive. |

| Agreed my favorite was "extreme max" didn't know what it was till I searched it. Only complaint I had was if it rained on the boat and you took the transom saver off and tipped it towards you it would poor out. I think I'm going to build one for my new boat. Seems straight forward. Can can seal it in a non adjustable style. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Thanks for all the advice. Went with this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009TOBVG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref...
Went on in about 2 seconds and if it holds up, will be a MUCH better fit than any traditional style transom saver I have used. |

Location: Hayward, WI | They are designed to take the bounce out of the motor and take the weight off the hydraulics. All you are really trying to do is keep the motor still and not bouncing with every bump that is hit. |
