I have no experience using a craddle on big fish. Which do you prefer for landing big fish a Net or a Craddle?

I've used a cradle and to be honest, I can't think of a benefit of a cradle over a net. Get a name brand, coated net, big as you can fit in your boat.

Net

Landing % went up double at least once I started using a net. Get a Fin Saver net there real easy on the Muskies

Go with a big net, try landing one in a cradle when you're out by yourself.

Get a good net. It's the fastest way to land a musky. I also have a boga grip which I use to handle the musky, once in the net.

Big Frabill. Craddles may support the fish nicely, but have ski roll and wrap the bait in the craddle and it could take twenty minutes to get the bait out after the five minutes of cutting hooks to free the fish. Not to mention they are impossible to use alone, which may not be an issue now but the more you fish sooner or later you'll be glad you bought the net.

Got a nice Craddle up in my garage rafters. Only used once. Anyone want it? It even has nice measurements on it making it real easy to measure your catch but try and get a Musky into it with a big crank bait sticking out of its mouth is another story.

Lost a 42-43 incher the first and only time I had it in my boat. One of the hooks on the 10 inch Jake hooked the mesh. BOOM SHE WAS GONE!

Hands down go with a "Big Net" with a coated bag.

Definitely the bag... I've tried every cradle, even the new Frabill. It will never be in my boat after my first day with it.

Good fishin',

I once awoke to find a cat in the cradle w/ a silver spoon, a little boy blue and the man in the moon...all were released to dream another day...
