Iwas wondering if anyone has tried this real yet. I've been thinking about picking one up as a multi-uses reel. So i'd like to know what you think of it.

Thanks

Tight lines to all

I have a C5 Mag-X reel that I use alot.  It is a very smooth reel and has the thumbar spool release instead of the push button.  The magnetic spool control is pretty useless with the weight of most muskie lures but all in all it is a great reel.  If I needed another reel or two I would buy this reel again.

I have a C5 MAG-X also and love it. I can cast my lures a long way with it, though I have had some usefullness of the magnetic controls.

I bought one just the other day and used it for the MN opener. After 14 hours of casting not one complaint. Excellent reel! Gonna buy a couple more to replace my c3's.

I bought one a few weeks ago and love the thumb bar as opposed to the c-4.

I replaced all my reels this winter with C5's when Gander Mountain had them on clearance for half off.I recently was told that these reels were being discontinued by a Gander saleseman and Bass Pro does not stock them.I have had great luck with them so far.
