| Anyone ever try to coat an existing net bag with some sort of rubberized product.
I would like to coat my Beckman, instead of dishing out the 50-70 bucks for a coated replacement bag.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

| Try dip-it, about any hardware store will have it. It's a liquid rubber used to dip the handles of tools and stuff |

Location: Davenport, IA | Treated nets can still split fins. I have a treated cabelas net but you can still see that there are knots and netting underneath and it still splits fins. (I no longer use it) It would help a little, but probobly still better to buy a new net. |

Location: Holly, MI | The coated nets are more for no hook imbedding aren't they. They also remove much less slime.
The dip-it will be way to thick (your net will hold water, haha) There must be an spray bomb can of plastic or rubber type coating available. Maybe automotive, they have flexitive to add to bumper paint for the plastic bumpers. |

| Try dipping in an egg/batter mix, then bake on 350 for 35 minutes...:O |

| I had a Beckman w/a Magnum untreated net.
I purchased a product from Home Depot called Rubberize-It, it comes in both aerosol and liquid form. I used the liquid version, poured it into an old coffee can, and swirled the net around in it. I then stretched it out and hung it to dry. It worked great. Caught 46.5" this last weekend on a top raider and the hooks didn't get hung up in it at all, and It reduced the amount of time the fish was in the net dramatically.
Best of all the can of liquid cost 5 bucks.
Sure I would love a new Fin Saver Pen, but at a cost of nearly 80 bucks this will do just fine!

| The problem I have is when the fish rolls when it gets in the net. Even if the hooks dont penetrate the bag they grab on and make one hell of a mess. Am I doing something wrong when netting? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I have a Magnum Beckman that I think I will try this on. |

| Coated my Beckman Magnum last night. Man, it looks awesome. I cant wait to try it out (hopefully that wont take long).
It sure is a nice looking net now. Obviously not the caliber of a FinSaver Pen, but a damn nice net after a very simple $5 improvement.

| Coating brings good luck, I coated mine and netted a 46.5 incher with it the first day on the water with it...
Good luck... |
