The Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin begins Saturday. Hundreds of teams will fish for the Merc crown Saturday and Sunday on lake Winnebago and the associated system.

The city also hosts a festival at Lakeside Park that is a blast, more things to do and see than you might be able to cover in a day. Over 30000 people attend.

SO! I am fishing walleyes this weekend. Good luck to those who are fishing muskies!

Before you bait that hook Stever, check out the Cave Run post FIRST; the villagers are clamoring and beating their chests for justice!

Steve,

Perhaps I will see you up there on Sunday. The Extreme One and I are thinking of shuttling the families up there to partake in the festivities. Worlds Largest Fish Fry featuring some of the best Walleye to be had will be one of the highlights. Lots of stuff to do for the kids, with bands and the adult beverages will flow freely!

Then it's weigh-in at around 3PM or so. One of the coolest things is to stand on the bridge looking out over Bago, and watching all the boats screaming across the lake to make it on time. Then they parade under the bridge towards the weigh-in stage. All makes and models of boats, with, of course, Mercury motors. Awesome sight to see 300 boats lined up in the channels.

Good luck to you, and all WF'ers in the tourney. Zach and I will have to sit this one out, as we are 10th on the waiting list, and there has been no movement. Is Patriot gonna have that 100 MPH Ocean racer there for me to drive?
