So does anyone know the weight of the 9' two piece in the heavy and extra heavy--?

I love my premier 8'6 H and XH---just great feeling light quality rods...

Thinking about a 9' rod to pair with the Revo Torro Beast

I wish they would have just made the rod in a one piece ---Im guessing that would have been too much competition for the Legends And Elite Legends --especially the Big Nasty ...

Any reports on the 9' two piece premier or weight specs would be appreciated--the RH catalog does not have weights listed for this rod....

They are quite heavy. I too wish they made a 1 piece XH rod. I keep waiting for a 9'0 big dawg but for some reason they don't produce it. I wonder why

I have the 9' H Premier. Mine weighs 14.6 oz. I did have a full grip Big Nasty that I am pretty sure weighed around 11.5 oz.

You can think of it as only a 3 oz difference or you can think of it as ~25% heavier. Overall, I like the rod. I do wish it had the 14" rear grip like the Big Nasty versus the 16". I also wish it had the non-palming real seat. The 2 piece design is great for transport or locking away in your rod locker.

Overall weight may not be an issue. It's balance. As rods have gotten longer, I have cut the butt cap off of several of my rods and actually inserted a section of lead in an effort to balance the rod and make it less tip heavy. It's amazing how it reduces the fatigue on the wrist of the hand that holds the rod.

It sounds radical, but it has worked for me.

Have a good weekend.

dc yes that 25% heavier adds up after a couple hours....

Im really upset they just didn't make that 9 foot premier in H and XH a one piece---that thing would have sold like crazy...

I'll probably get another 8'6 premier or bite on the 9' Big Nasty ...

Not St. Croix, but the Tackle Industries line of musky rods has a 9' xh and xxh that may be to your liking. The xh is similar to a St. Croix heavy and the xxh TI is like a St. Croix xh. Great rods, top notch customer service, and a price that's very reasonable.
