So Ive been tying bucktails for just about a year now. Ive gotten pretty good at tying marabou and Flash but, I wanted something different that I could start to make. I based this topwater buzzbait from others in the past but, with my own twist. It makes a nice splash and clack sound. Let me know what you guys think or if you'd change something on it.
Thanks

I like to put a larger metal bead behind the front hook split ring so that it can absolutely not slide down the coils or down the bait. It may feel like it'll hold, but after running and a fish or two, that front hook can work it's way down the bait coils. A bigger bead will stop that.

^^^^^^^^^ yep what e-fly said. some how some way when you get fish on that hook its going to work its way down over that cone shaped area. you need a positive larger SOLID bead stop. great looking baits, keep us posted on the catch results, good luck!

Never thought of that. Thanks for the info. I'll put the split ring in between the 2 beads below the blades.

Agree on the bead. You definitely want to upsize it. I never thought to overlap the blades like that. I have made some nice combination buzz baits but that looks interesting.

Yeah the overlapped blades give it a nice clack. Here is a link to a test video of them if the one up top is not working
