I need to pick up some hooks to replace ones that have been cut on a pounder and am wondering what hooks you all like best. Thanks

I use mustad 3551. Make sure you sharpen them because they come duller than heck.

Yup, Mustad 3551. I use 8/0, but you could probably go bigger on the front hook if you really wanted.

I haven't used them a lot, but the hooks on the newer Medusa baits seem pretty awesome. They are a black nickle hook, which in my experience, holds a point much longer than a typical Mustad.

The chaos hooks are super sharp right out of the box and hold a point pretty good. In my opinion the 3551 does not hold a point quite as well but for me is a lot easier to get really sharp once I have to put a file on them.

Get the original replacements from Musky Innovations. I think pounders have 8/0 hooks:

There are reasons that many people toss the original hooks (and rings) when they buy the bait and put a 3551 on...

I like 3551 8/0 or sometimes 9/0 and my hook up percentage went way up over the old original M.I. hooks. Not sure what they use now, as I haven't bought or cast a pounder in years, but the 3551's were definitely an upgrade My theory is that the longer shank put the hook points further away from the rubber and allowed them to more easily move separate from the bait and find muskie skin.
