| Does anyone know where you can rent a couple decent fishing boats for a Canadian fishing trip? I am a former musky nut that moved to Texas and want to do a trip to Canada, but don't think I can handle fishing without raised casting platforms, electronics and a bow mount. I plan to fly in Minneapolis and drive from there. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

| I would book a guide. Rental boats are usually not cheap, plus you have to buy gas. I would bet you could get a good rate from a guide if you book them for your entire trip. |

Location: Watersmeet, Michigan | Like Whynot said, there are a lot of advantages to hiring a guide. One of them not having to worry about possibly damaging the boat or motor and having to pay for repairs. (Canadian Shield lakes mean rock, rock, rock.)

| Agreed, boat rental is not cheap. You can go first class with a guide and be on fish each and every day. Most rental boats are bare bones anyways. |

| Frankies Marine in Chisago City has G3's for rent - 17 foot tiller $800/week and 17 foot W/T for $1295/week. Compare that to a guide and make your decision from there ... |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | If I had to rent a boat, I wouldn't be dragging it up to Canada. Lots of options from guides to resort rentals. Just don't expect to find many available during Ontario muskie opener -> third week of June... you should get locked in now, if you really want a resort rental or guide.
Most also have trolling motors & sonars available option or as inclusive for their larger boats.
Have fun!
