| Went out this morning, I saw a lot of fishermen today, the water really cleaned up and the temp. was 49 degrees we dragged 2 suckers all day my fishing buddy had a hit on his sucker but some how managed to pull the sucker away from the fish the sucker had some pretty good teeth marks ? Also cast bulldogs with no luck. Every one that I talked to wasn't having and luck. Hopefully if weather allows I will get out next week but I don't know if I should fish the chain or go to Silver in Wi.? |

| Ive fished the chain 2X a week and havent boated anything since Sept. Ive had a couple follows and lost one but thats it, very very tough. The guides have even quit fishing there. The bait balls are huge this fall and Im sure the fish are just gorging on shad when they do decide to eat. Silver pulled the docks a few weeks ago, so tough to get on/off there especially solo. |

Location: Already Gone | She's a son of a gun sometimes....If you decide to try the Chain, I might add that the Spring drawdown is going on also, so use extra caution when launching and loading. Rocks/concrete chunks, things like that are feeding heavily on props, skegs, and lower units. I would say that the water levels are at least 12-15 inches lower than normal, and going down.
If I had one tip that I could pass on, I would mention that I have had more success in the late Fall with live bait rigs made with flouro instead of wire.
Be as stealthy as possible without sacrificing durability. These fish are really conditioned to just about everything. Good luck. |

I am curious if there are still muskies in Loon Lake on Grass Lake Rd. In the 90's I fished it a number of times and caught muskies. I had heard they had stopped stocking it and the number of muskies is very limited. Any insight to muskies being in loon lake or not is appreciated.

| I never fished it and I always wanted to. Iv'e been told that there are some large Muskie still in there. I passed loon parking lot Sunday afternoon and there was a least 6 rigs parked but don't know what they were fishing for. |

| Draw down is done on the Chain and yes levels are about a foot low so be careful launching on the chain. Not a problem for me but could be for bigger boats. |

At Triangle's prices on suckers, I would be willing to wager they say the big 12"ers are slaying the brown trout in Milwaukee Harbor. |

| 13" suckers were 7.00 each or very close to that and they measure everyone to make sure its what you want. |

Location: Already Gone | I didn't come on here to argue about the price of suckers, (ridiculous) but I am curious about the Triangle comment?
Using 13" as a bench mark, I recently found:
Boulder Junction Gas station $7.50 each
Highland Sports in BJ $8.00
Triangle $6.50
Rollie and Helen's $10.00 each (that's right, 10 bucks.)
Personally speaking, I give Triangle alot of credit for having these available for us at a very fair price considering our options. They have a load of them too. Dependable....open at 5am...Nice to be able to pick them up on the way. I haven't had much success with that other bait place, no one home.
Looking forward to a few more Chain trips this season, it's not even close to being over. But I agree with it being tough, alot of baitfish out there for em. Good luck. |

| No worries. I thought you were saying they were expensive which they are not and would say anything to sell them at a high price. Well at least thats how it read to me.
Anyways the chain was great up to mid Sept. I got 16 fish out of there only one under 30 and the rest 35-44. Lost some really big ones and lost and seen countless others. It was a good year but not sure Ill get back out with how slow it has been. |
