Mine had alarms at higher RPMs, it was the alternator fuse harness. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Are you over revving it? Cold water and air makes them run stronger and sometimes you can gain some RPM. |

| There is plenty of oil in it. It runs great until I get it up to about twenty then it starts beeping like a constant long beep. |

Location: Lake Elmo, MN | Did you run out of oil and then re-fill it recently ? There is a sensor on Mercs that once the oil alarm goes off, it won't stop beeping (even after you've added oil) until you take a specific action with the small reservoir on the side of the powerhead. That means removing the cowling, and then bleeding the small plastic reservoir where the alarm is. It's actually not that tough...I did it on Lake of the Woods (on the water !).
Any Merc dealer can show you how.
Sorry...I cannot remember the specifics of the process.

Location: indiana | Had similar issue with 75 hp Mercury. Try replacing the "poppet valve". Spelling? It could be overheating even though it is peeing water |

| did you change your prop ? it may be over the rpm limit. I think if you go over 5700 it'll shut down there should be a label on the motor that tells you the max rpms. |
