Few months back I posted here in a need of restoring a mount I got of Ebay, broken fins, pale skin etc. Got my mount back a bit longer than promised but in my opinion was worth a while, especially for the price. I just wanted to thank Slamr for recommending Salmon Shop in Palatine. It came out pretty nice, I think, especially that I only paid $120 for the full restore including driftwood now its sitting on.
Especially when several other guys quoted me 200 plus just for the fin restoration.

Looks really nice.

I'd say you got a great deal and saved a nice mount from the garbage can.

Looks Nice ! I might have to try them also,I have a few really old mounts with some fin damage, but was more concerned that alot of the scales were sticking out would be too pricey to restore. If too pricey to get all the scales back down flush with the fish.I was wondering if I could use an auto type bondo and put a thin coat over scales, sand and maybe have a painter repaint the mounts.

Ray...I wouldn't do the bondo thing. The best approach is to show a qualified taxidermist the mounts and discuss your options. There are a few ways to deal with scales lifting but a taxidermist would really need to see the fish to determine the best solution and cost. Species of fish may also play into cost and method.
