The line is still popping out of the OR 18 clips. Do you guys wrap the line around the OR 18 as well to prevent it from pulling out?

I like to wrap my line around with all lures... you would definitely need to with headlocks the way they pull.

I know, when the headlock starts darting the line pops out and the board goes under the water. I think i have a fish but then realize what happened. Baits up to a 10" jake works well though. Thanks for the suggesting what i thought i should do.

Are you using the new OR-37 SST Pro Mag Planer?

Regular off shore boards. Are the new ones available to the consumer yet?

I have run them and it works OK. What kind of line? Super lines tend too slip more than mono. Try tightening the OR 18 release with a screw driver. If that doesn't work, wrap line around release.

A bigger board will definitely help get it out to the side more. The standard boards tend to get pulled back pretty hard with the big stuff. But like I said I have done it and it works OK. I don't run a full spread of the big stuff usually. Just a couple closest to the boat. If you want to run a big spread of the big stuff(6 or more lines), you probably will need some bigger boards.

The black OR-18 clip which is the one on the front, should never allow the line to "pop off" if you are clamping the clamp in the forward position which also has a pin which prevents the board from coming off and line from popping off the clip. Slippage is a whole other story.

I run some large, hard pulling baits on the Reg. Off Shores with minimal slippage. Not sure about Headlocks...I don't run 'em.

I may be flipping them backwards. I will double check this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great read on modifying inlines to get them to swing out further. And if they can run 400 coppers off them we can run our big baits off them as well.

I put those things away during the colder water period...completely worthless....better off pulling rubber behind your boards....
