Location: Madison, WI | I'm re-evaluating my setups and trying to figure out how to maximize the little gear that I have thus far, as i am new to this game. The first rod i got was a st croix premier MH and I'm just not sure what to use it for anymore besides smaller topwaters and small crankbaits. Is this a nice stick to have around for spring or do you guys find it too light for that even? |

| It depends on what you other set ups are ?
I have a legend tournament bass "Big jig" rod that i use for small bucktails and jerkbaits in the 6 inch range, and it does the job like a dream. |

| Each manufacturer`s ratings are different. My TI MH, I like it for small baits up to 8`s. I have a premier MH that I feel comfortable slow rolling 10`s. |

Location: Madison, WI | I have a daiwa Luna 300 on a TI 9' XH - and a revo toro on the st croix premier mh. I find myself using the first combo for the vast majority of baits and am trying to decide on what rod to get next. Thinking a TI 9' XXH so i can throw rubber/heavy baits more easily with that. I guess the next question would be, what circumstances do you use those smaller baits in/how often? with limited gear I can't really afford to have a specialty rod yet |

| I would use the premier when you downsize lures. Get a ti xxh for rubber. You will also find you will probably like the xxh for 10's as well.
You use small baits typicaly in spring and summer cold fronts is a good rule of thumb. |

| Throw the toro on the XXH when you get it and pick up say a shimano 300ej for the small bait rod and your set. The ej's are going for 150 - 180$ on the buy/sell forum. Or you can pick up what ever reel you choose for the small bait rod. Or you could keep the reels as is on the MH & XH , and put a high speed reel like a saltist 20 on the XXH for rubber line pick up and 10's. |

Location: Madison, WI | The Last suggestion is exactly what I was thinking! Awesome thanks again for all the help. i'm excited to see what a saltist on an xxh will be like for blades cuz the luna on the XH feels really powerful to me as it is. |
