Lac Vieux Desert muskie tournament spots still open

Just an update on the WMT's Lac Vieux Desert muskie tournament. There are less than 10 spots open and with the teams who have called to inform us that their entry is in the mail, that would leave only 3 spots open for the tourney. If you would like the chance at winning $10,000 for just a little more than a half a day muskie fishing, than log onto www.WMTseries.com or call us at (715)369-1394 or e-mail us at [email protected] . If there are still openings at the time of the tournament, teams can still register at the Friday nite meeting held at the Hillside Resort on South Shore Drive, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm.

Also, don't forget about our up coming tournaments at Lake Wausau on May 31, and the Phillips Chain June 7. Both lakes have a legitimate shot of catching a 50" muskie and a $30,000 Ranger boat from Heckel's Eagle River Marina. In fact, the Phillips Chain is number 4 on my choice to produce a 50 incher for our circuit, Pewaukee Lake was number 5 and I just missed that by 1 3/4".

Thanks and hope to see you at a WMT tourney this year,

Tom McInnis

Hey Tom, love reading about the progress of your tournament, sounds well run and put together. Thanks for the update on the spots for Vieux Desert, me and and my son will be in the area anyways, might just have to fish it!
Question though: why dont you run a live leaderboard deal on M1st like the PMTT does? Would love to track the progress as it happens like I get to with the PMTT! And being that you basically advertise your series on mf anyways through your post, it would be nice if you gave back a little too!

Thanks for running a great tournament!

Tom,

If you are interested in a LLB, we would need the field of contestants a day in advance in an Excel Spreadsheet. All that needs to happen then is a phone call with the team number and fish measurement, and we can offer a Live Leaderboard.

Hello Steve,

The way things are set up with the WMT this year, it would be tough to be able to give you a list of teams the day before a tournament. In the first three years of the WMT we have allowed teams to sign up(if there are any openings) at the Friday night meeting and at times the Saturday morning, or for teams who are have paid half to pay the ballance on Friday, making it impossible to have a list for you ontime. We are going to revisit our procedures for next year and I believe we are going to close the tournament at least a week before the tournament starts. We have run into situations this year already and in previous years and we feel a change is in order.
I would like to talk to you about a live leader board for the WMT Invitational Championship this year. Our last qualifier before the WMT Championship is two weeks before, and we should be able to give you a list of our participants in plenty of time.
If you are interested in doing a live leader board for the WMT Championship please e-mail me at [email protected] with details of what you need from us and in what format and I will pass it along to Dan.

Thanks,
Tom McInnis
