Location: Madison, WI | I need a seat to lean on in the front of the boat and have been looking at the different kinds available at Bass Pro and Cabelas. I would like opinions on what kind is better. Power seats vs spring, tilting vs non tilting etc. Thanks Peter |

Location: Lafayette, IN | Depends on whether you're a "leaner" or a "sitter". Some anglers do a lot of both so one that tips up easily is the ticket. Then it's a matter of price. You can always select a seat you like then upgrade later with a tilt-up adapter. Mine is a simple butt seat on a 2" telescoping pole for easy adjusting. Pole + Seat = about 80 bucks. |

Location: Kentucky | stephendawg is correct!! 2" telescoping pole plus seat @ cabelas is $70-$80. Plus the seats come in a rainbow of colors to spice up the rig! |

Location: Freedom, WI | I agree with the Dawg. I am a leaner and only for when the play boats drive by and leave a big wake so I do not tip over. They do not make a seat top that I like (round one). The ones with a shape for your legs, and a cushion for your butt are never where they should be when you try and sit (always spins). And one more thing the boat makers seem to put the post base to far away from the edge of the boat to work jerk baits. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Sponger, You been staying up late at night listening to the old vinyl again? As for Butt Seats, a Swivelease gas post and bike seat is about $80; that's what I use. There are posts that don't spin if you lock them. Springfield makes a gas post with a seat lock so the seat stays where you want it. |

| Gooder one Stever...actually I rarely sleep through the night anyhows, and just checked in to see what my condition was was in...got some original Roy Orbison and Boots Randolph, need to get a record player, if they still make them. I have a "leaner" seat on mine, but also keep a sitting seat on the back bench in case the back starts caving, which it often does! |
