| Try to search, lots of info on it, both good and bad.
I bought a 300 and returned it short after becasue of a creaming sound during the cast. |

Location: Detroit River | I have the Lexa 400 (lefty) with the 7.1:1 gear ratio & power handle. I throw mostly double 8's & some double 10's with it. It pulls in the doubles 8's like they aren't even there but with the double 10's you can feel it pull, which can get tiring after a while. I also use it to throw regular Medussas when I want a quicker line pickup. I did do one upgrade that Pikemaster had recommend (he sent me the bearing). I replaced the nylon spacer that's under the cast control knob with the bearing that Pikemaster sent me. I didn't cast the reel with the original nylon spacer so don't know if there was a difference or not with the upgrade. I haven't caught a fish on the reel yet (this year has sucked major arse for me) so I haven't been able to see how well the drag is. The one thing I don't like about the reel is that it backlashes a lot more (at least 4X more) than any of my other reels (Toro, Curado, Luna, Komodo). I've only been musky fishing twice since July & with the fall here now I most likely won't be using the Lexa the rest of the season. |

Location: Ludington, MI | My 300 had a squealing sound on retrieve. I opened it up and found a loose washer. That solved it. I love it now, but I'd like the extra line capacity of the 400, I think. The 300 gets down to a pretty small diameter on the long cast, even packed to the top with line. I have not experienced the backlash issue or any problems on casts. |

| The reel I think you would be happier with is the Revo Toro S. Lexa 300 is too small, Lexa 400 too big. Toro S is perfect and guys have been really happy with the reel pulling Double 10's. |

| Most reels are going to a disengaging levelwind. |

Yeah a non-disengaging levelwind actually bleeds energy off the cast. You see them in applications where the spool is really wide. The new Toro series uses a deeper, narrower spool and can avoid a non-disengaging levelwind. You see this in the lexas, tranx, and calcuttas
Lexa 400 6.3:1? I have one. I love it to death or everything below 10's. Fits my hand perfectly. Breaks a little too fast to give it a 5 star review, but i paid $180 brand new for it. Wish shimano would come out with something comparable.
