What's the deal with Mille lacs? I haven't been paying too much attention but it seems I hear less and less each year about muskies out there. I just did some searching and I couldn't find a single report from this year. Has it gotten that bad out there or are people still catching fish? Just curious. Thanks!

Mille Lacs has been a tough lake overall for the last 7-8 years. Just got to spend a lot of time out there and hope to get lucky. I heard of a really big one caught trolling out on the flats about a month or so ago. They guys who do ok usually keep it pretty hush.

The fish are there but it can be a tough bite! Went up the first week in august on the north end and fished my but off for 3 days. 0 follows but got a 53" in conditions you would not expect to catch a fish. I love fishing that lake because there is no pressure and has the potential for a trophy fish. The down side is you need to be able to deal with the fact that you may not see anything?

Pros- you almost have the lake to yourself which is awesome, and may catch a trophy!
Cons- That's Musky fishing!
