Hey Everyone,

I own a Humminbird 798ci-HD-si and want to start using my recording feature with Dr. Depth to plot some local areas on the lakes I fish.
I realize Humminbird has AutoChart and now the new ONIX units have AutoChart Live the latter looking pretty cool, however I thought I'd give this a shot and do it the old fashion way.

Any suggestions on what SD card speed I need? What about volume (not sure how much data gets recorded per minute)?

On a side note does anyone have experience with the method I'm looking at vs. the Autochart Live version? Is it worth $300 bucks for it?
I found a nice PDF (http://www.webpages.uidaho.edu) that may help me with the old fashion way.

Thanks,
Josh

After more searching I found a great response on a different forum. Here for your reading pleasure if interested!

Still interested in others opinions on my planned method to record and generate hydro maps versus the autochart pro way.
