Location: With my son on the water | I have an 80 lb Terrova and it works fine. However when I am running with the Auto Pilot turned on I have noticed it makes a (squeaking or a creaking sound when it turns). I do not notice this sound when I turn with the Auto Pilot turned off.
I have never opened up that area of a Terrova. Has anyone ever experienced this or do you have any ideas what this may be?
Thanks and have a good day. |

| I have not noticed that. I would call Minn Kota and ask them. Still under warranty?

| Mine does that. I think it's just the super small turns it does vs when You steer a larger turn.

| Is it the big thick coiled up cord that leads from the base up to the trolling motor head? Sometimes it gets caught and wrapped up a little with the auto pilot on and it can cause some squeaking as it gets tight until it gets adjusted. Just a thought, otherwise definitely give minnkota a call.

| My Terrova has been doing the same thing. Always when the AP is on because it is steering when under power. I'm not sure if/where a shot of WD-40 would help. So far my solution has been to block it out! If anyone has any ideas, I'd be all ears.
