Yesterday my friend and long time fishing partner got a 51 1/2" fish at boatside on a figure 8. So far this season he has taken a 49, 45,42,42 and a 39. But here's the wild part, "All" fish have been taken at the boat on the 8. I getting used to him saying "there's one" and the next thing you know his rod is doubled! What are the odds of this? Does anyone know someone who can make these fish not refuse these boatside strikes? I'm trying to learn from him.

The other day I was fishing into the wind, so I had my trolling motor on high to keep my position. I saw a nice fish hot on my bait. I slowly lowered my rod tip into the water. At the same time I pushed my pedal forward and as I began to figure 8, the boat started to spin in circles. That determined fish stayed with me until we both got too dizzy and disoriented. Never a dull moment on my boat!

Raze, it's my opinon that heavily fished shad forage lakes produce more figure eight fish, especailly from bigger more conditioned fish. Sounds like your year has been good so far.
