Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I finally did it.
I broke the 50" mark with a 50.5" spotted Musky today.
I will not tell you where, but I think it is the only place to legally c atch a spotted this time of the year in Wisconsin! Don't post guesses as I will not respond.
She hit a casted, Double Weighted Suick. Don't know what that is? Check out my web site ~ http://www.jomusky.tripod.com
I am still shaking and I caught her at 2:50pm today.
Pictures to follow. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I will admite it, I have fished Long lake a few years back. I doubt I will ever go back though.
I did say that it was a legally caught fish.
Thanks for the compliments!
I will post the pics tomorrow afternoon. When I got to Wally World tonight after fishing, their photo lab was closing. I have to wait till tomorrow to get the pics ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I can't wait!
Oh ya, today, Roger Watters and his brother Ron shared the boat with me on Big Green. Roger caught a 35" on a Drop Belly and Ron caught a fatty 40.5" Pike. We, also, had two other follows and five smallies around 15". It was a nice outting put on by Eric Larsen and the guys from Winnebagoland Musky Club. Thanks again for the invite!
What a weekend. I'm still freakin'

| I talked with Joe tonight. I could tell he still had that big, sh_t-eatin' grin on his face, as he was hard to understand! But make no mistake, this fished was released very healthy, to fight another day. Joe said it was a real slob, too. Can't wait to see the pics. |

Sorry it took so long to get the pics up.
My wife kept me busy tonight, but I suppose I have to give that to her considering I was fishing all weekend.

I thought that once I broke 50 I would be able to kick back, take it easy, and not fish so hard, but it only made it worse. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | How much do you think she weighed?
Once again in all the excitement I spaced a girth measurement.
After words, we were talking about it and I got a tape out and guessed it to be 28", which using the MF formula would put her at almost 50lbs. I think that is a bit much. Maybe 26" which would put her at 42lbs.
One thing I know is that it sure was hard to hold her out. I had to rest my arm on my knee. |

Not too sure about that being 50 pounds, though. The 50" that I got to the left had a 21" girth, and was a pretty healthy spotted fish. It went around 31-32 pounds.
Great Fish! |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | The fish in the picture to the left goes 52lbs. She taped out at 57 x 27. This fish was a October Fattie. It takes a lot of fish to get to the 50#'s. Just trying to help you in your guess of the girth. Great pictures by the way. Spots are awsome fish. I went back and read the previous posts, thats why I posted this info. |

| Til I saw that release flick I thought you cut your hair and the fish had more on top than you. What a great release picture! The eye in that pic tells the tail of a lucky fish. Talk to you soon about a few summer days killin time muskie fishin. After you come down. Congrats! |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I figured the weight to be around 40# after the catch. The 28 girth was a guess - obviously wrong. Like I wrote, probably more like 25 or 26 inch. I just thought I would ask for some input. |

| I was a master at guessing the # of pinto beans in a mason jar as a tyke, and often won the prize at birthday parties; since nobody else will give you a weight, my guess is 4olbs./8ozs. Anyone else up to pinning the tail on the donkey? |
