| I'll be fishing LSC this weekend out of belle River and thames on the canadian side. First time fishjng it this season I was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction on where to look for the muskies right now and what they should be doing. Will they be on structure or just scattered everywhere. I will be casting for them. Thanks!! |

They'll be where the schools of bait fish will be & many of them will be biting the baits off of the Bassmaster Elite Series pros line this weekend because there will be a lot of bass boats out there. Also there is a huge Algae bloom on LSC right now (probably the worst ever) & that stuff can be bad news. I've heard of a few guys that have gotten sick from the algae so if you go I'd keep my hand's out of the water as much as possible & be sure to have plenty of hand sanitizer & towels with you.
Also had a major cold front come through this week with temps in the 50's at night. Won't even hit 70 today.

Most of the algae is closer to the south shore but this year it's also on the north end of the lake which I've never seen that before. Guys are still catching them but I have a few friends that have been struggling the past couple of weeks & they've been fishing the south shore. I haven't been out there in 3 weeks due to health issues but I hope to be out this weekend but I'll most likely be fishing in Michigan waters only.

| I've heard about the hump out of belle River, can anyone describe or show me a pic of the location I've done lots of searching to find it. I see some shallow spots on my navionics surrounded by deeper water but not sure if that's it

Location: oswego, il | Its straight north and a little west of the river. Don't think of a hump that rises up shallow from deep water. It rises to about 8ft from 13-15ft. The steepest drop in the lake is the shipping channel. |

| No, the hump is a long finger that looks like it extends 1/4 of the way out in the lake. If you go out of the belle marina and go WNW you will drive over it. it looks like a finger sticking out of the center of the south shore 25% of the way out into the lake - you can't miss it. there is also a small hump off the tip of it with a saddle between the 2

Location: On the O | Belle River chapter of Muskies Canada is having their outing this weekend, shouldn't be hard to find boats fishing for Muskie.

Maybe I wasn't notified of the change but when I last checked, when you are facing north, west is to your left & east is to your right, which would mean driving out of the Belle River (located on the SOUTH shore of LSC) you would head north east (to the right) to the Hump.  |

| The fishing on Mon-Wed this week was insane....on fire! Multiple fish days, countless follows, fish eating, fish lost, figure 8's, etc....come post front ion Thurs was brutal according to multiple reports...fishing shut down. Hopefully it picks back up again. Fish are now scattering with this coldfront. They are not exactly where they should be come Wednesday night. Gotta go find them again.... |

| Oh and mine Zib said...forget about spots or locations if you choose to fish open water and the lake. Structure means very little out there unless bait is relating to it. These fish can roam and move miles overnight following food so you gotta find bait. No weeds, humps, structure, etc...it's all about bait. Find bait and find Muskie. A ton of water to cover....but if you grind and find pods of bait you can very likely find fish. Don't be fooled by sonar screens filled up with "Muskie bait" when it's really billions and billions of tiny super tiny minnows. |

| Casting...I never troll...soft plastics...forget all the baits you have...bring Pounders, Dussa's, RO Tubes and Bondy Baits. Maybe Jerkbait if they push on shallow weed pockets and I'd call it a day. All season I've fished Dawgs and Tubes...nothing really else... |

It is definitely a different way of fishing, nice weeds, bars with weeds, the few dropoffs, doesn't mean anything. Bait means everything. Also helps to have an idea what the bait likes. Bass and pike love the weeds. |

| Hellhounds are killer on LSC! Even in channels or deep mid lake. Don't be afraid to BURN gliders. Some of my biggest fish have come on gliders. I've got several 50"ers on Wabulls and Hellhounds. This weeks 50"er, 42" Tiger and 7 other fish ranging from 38-48" were all caught on Pounders and Tubes |

Black or white Dussas is what I catch a lot of mine on. A buddy of mine does good on white or black/orange.
Bucktails: black w/ nickel or copper blades some days. Gold w/gold blades on the sunny days. Hulk Hogan is another good color to throw. I have yet to catch one on a bucktail this year. Last year I caught over half on tails.
Storm Kickin Minnows in perch or white are good all year but I've done best with them in the fall.

| Thanks for all the help and advice guys, I feel like we did decent for never fishing the area, landed 4 (3 blades, 1 dussa) and lost one, only 3 follows and one figure 8 fish. Fished out from belle and puce River |
