| I would like to upgrade my bow electronics. I have a couple questions that have been holding me back.
1. The current unit is mounted to the fiberglass and the mounts are different on the new units how are you filling the older holes?
2. Do you tape over the glass when drilling new holes to keep it from chipping? Any tips welcome.
3. I recently upgraded the TM to a Terrova(non I-link). How are you running the cable from the TM to your graph?
Thanks and pictures are definitely welcome.

| I learned that if you use the drill in reverse to get through the gel coat then forward through the fiber glass will reduce chipping. Worked for me when I installed transducer and ram mount base. |

Location: SE WISCONSIN | As far as running your transducer's cable you can run it in the groove in the terrova's shaft if it is a humminbird. The lorwanance cable is to thick and won't fit. To do this you will have to take the head off the terrova and pull the shaft off to get the cable trough the collar it's a pain in the butt. I've done it. Or just use the transducer that's built in the terrova if it is a us2 model.

| It has the built in transducer and wiring but Ill need an adapter depending on which unit I go with. Are you drilling a hole in the boat big enough to fit the plug through? How do you seal it up and make it look factory? Kinda nervous to drill a hole that size. |

Location: SE WISCONSIN | Helix 5 is a nice unit. I have 1 extra plastic grommet from my install but I don't think that would look good on the bow. if you get a down imaging unit and want to install the transducer on your terrova let me know I will give you some pointers on what to do.

| Thanks my current graph is on the gunnal next to the windshield. It used to be the only one and you could turn it 180 to see when driving or flip it around when fishing from the front. I put a Elite 5 on the console now need something better for the bow. I wouldn't mind keeping the new one in the same spot but don't want to drill more holes there and then I have to drill more in the bow to hook up the TM. Dang decisions decisions |

| Ended up with the Helix 5 and put it in the same spot as the old unit. Just couldnt bring myself to drill another big hole so I filled the old mounting bracket holds with water weld and reused the cable hole . I also decided to use the transducer that came with the unit instead of the one on the TM so I could utilize the DI feature. Not exactly how I wanted it but should work out just fine. |
