Was thinking about making my own hard lures. What suggestions do folks have for clay to use for making a blank. I want to make sure I can make that first before making a larger investment.

I carve mine from basswood, and spray with clear coat to seal it up.

Thanks for the tip I might try wood first. I wish there was a class for this stuff. I know I would sign up.

Sculpey clay is easy to work with & won't harden until you bake it in the oven.

If you are looking to due some serious detail work use Plastecine
(oil based modeling compound, will never harden
) or wax.
