| Never seen markings like this one. Anyone have ideas on why it looks so different then the other tigers that have been in the boat?

| I'd say "likewise," looks pretty regular for a tiger to me.....but had one in the boat two weeks ago on Big St. Germain, and I couldn't agree with my partner. It had zero of the "silvery" color you normally see, and I wasn't ready to agree. I thought it was just a really "nicely" striped regular ski. We showed the photo to Rob Manthei that night at Fibber's at Big St. Germain Lodge where we were staying...and Rob sided with my partner on it being a tiger. I wasn't about to question Rob's knowledge on the thing...but I'm still scratching my head on that. I think that there's a lot more lee-way in this than I had thought before! Oh yea, Fibbers and the lodge were just great as usual!! |

| Well if it looks normally to you all must be then. That is blood unfortunately from a deep hook. All hooks were cut and she swam away happy. |

| This is a Tiger I caught in Vilas County last year. Unusual markings on it.

I was kinda thinking that it was a musky. Still it's a pretty fish Ranger. I have no experience with tigers but should a tiger not have more pointed tips to the tail. The colour pattern looks like muskies I have seen in some other places.
I'm headed to a lake that has produced some good sized tigers next weekend and would love to get a decent one.

| Yes horse hunter the Tigers have a rounded tail like dogboys and the first pic. They also carry their markings well into their cheek plates. Good luck hope you get one! |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I just went back and checked and it's the tigers and pike that have the more rounded fins than true muskies. Mr Musky has it right. |

| The best way to tell if its a tiger or a full strain musky is to count the pores under the mouth and again there is always the oddball. For the most part 5 or less pores is a tiger/pike and 6+ is a pure strain. |

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL & Phillips, WI | Here are some really unusual markings on one my son caught a couple weeks ago. It was the same fish his older brother got a few years ago. Went from mid-twenties to low thirties. The marking tell all!
