How do you customize your bucktails? Swap out blade sizes on older DCGs? Trim the skirt? Upsize the weight? Let's hear it.

Sometimes add a small teaser blade behind the treble like on the Inhaler bucktails .

Anybody add weight? Do you swap out egg weights or simply add to the lure?

i have rebuilt them with .063 wire and switched the weight to 1 oz. egg when the thin wire they're built with gets trashed. they stay deeper and you can really burn them if you want to. i've done the same for the JR's but only use a 3/4 oz. weight.

Add a bell sinker to the front hook if it has one or split ring one on in that area. I like the standard must ad 5/0 J hook so if the bait has a giant 20X hook, I replace it. It also does not hurt to have Johnny Dadson spit on the blades!
