Starting to plan a trip up there and it looks like most people recommend spring bay resort. We will be getting a 2BR cabin and we like the looks of the mason cabin but was wondering if anyone could give recommendations on cabins. Always hard to pick one just by looking at pictures and not seeing surrounding area. The cabins that are available are: Mason, Vermilion, Grandma's, and Preston. Appreciate any feedback on the 2BR cabins there and would appreciate any tips in general. Never made a trip up there before, it will be a golf/fish trip.

I've never stayed there, but I have seen some of the cabins first hand. Not sure of the names of any of them but they all seemed pretty decent with plenty of room for guys and gear.

All are really great Cabins , with really cool people to deal with.
You don't have to go very far to be on Fish.

Stay away from the Vermilion. There's this hooligan that lives above it and he'll tell you to "shut up and fish" the whole time you are there... He may not be there though, so take it. It's a nice cabin and has it's own firepit. I don't know the names of all the cabins, but they are all nice.

I'd go with Mason, stayed in that one 2 yrs ago. It's insulated better, so if you leave the windows open at nite when it's cool and shut them during the day, the cabin stays cool. They have golf carts if there's anyone with problems walking as it's "up the hill".

Have you looked into the MuskieFirst outing in August? Best deals your going to find........

I've stayed in the Preston.
Closest thing to the docks.
Awesome inside.
You do get a little road noise but I was so tired every night it didn't matter.
