With this trend towards Dadsons and them having the heavier wire is it just a heavier wire or does it resist braking after repeated bending in to 90 degrees bends vs. the 0.51 wire?

obviously it will be harder to break. I don't think it is a strength issue with .051 wire, the .062 wire just gives off a different vibration and also when a fish is thrashing around in a net with a bucktail in it's mouth, the bait won't bend as easy.

I am a big fan of the overall heavier weights of the Dadsons.

Not sure how much weight the wire adds. People use the heavier wire to keep it from being bent too much.

.062 wire is a great wire to use when plagued by hammer handle Pike. However, the downside is when it does get bend it is harder to re-shape. The qualities of .051 are more to my liking though. If it does get bend it is easily bend back into shape. It also vibrates well when used with dbl. blades, and has not broken or separated when landing really large fish. Just my .02.

I think cowgirls run, spin and call fish the best. They nailed it.
I have a few heavier wire and heavier baits like Handlebarz and Spankies. They cast better for sure.
I don't see heavier wire as an advantage. Heavier baits can be though in wind.

I just heard that the 0.62 wire is tempered steel and more likely to brake after fewer big bends than the 0.51. How many 90 degree or worse bend with a Dadson before re shafting would be recommended?

I build my own bucktails. I use the .6 wire with my heavy bucktail because they run better with the extra weight. The wire stays straighter n doesnt flex allowing the blades the spin smoother. I use .5 wire for reg weight bucktails. This is with all blades styles n sizes. I carry extra wire in boat so if bait gets to bent out of shape I just rebuild it in boat. Extra hook shrink tube split rings clevises. Everything is in boat even extra flashabou marabou what ever.
