Location: Minneconia | So I have a sledge that the kids have used for a bathtub toy for 10 years(sans hooks of course)...I'm thinking about reclaiming it as they're getting older and actually fish with it. My questions are, what hook size/type is best for sledges.? Also, if it says "Randy Shutt Ent" on the bait, is it an original? Thanks |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | I believe they are a 5/0 up front, a 4/0 in the middle and a 3/0 on the tail. That's what I run on mine. Yes that is the original sledge. I use VMC but I don't think that what they come with standard, they use a heavier gauge hook. |

| There is a 6.75" and 9" (11" came out recently). Link below shows all the stats for the current ones, I would guess they are similar to the originals. 5/0 up front 4/0 middle and back, split ring on front.

Location: NE Ohio | 9" original RANDY SHUTT sledge :
front hook - MUSTAD #3551 5/0.
middle and rear hooks - MUSTAD #35656BR 3/0.
6" original RANDY SHUTT sledge.
front and back hooks - MUSTAD #35656BR 3/0.
RANDY SHUTT sledge was never made in an 11" model, just the 'NEW' sledgehammer sledge is. completely different company. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Has anyone ever x-rayed a Sledge? I'd like to cut the back off one of mine and try to add a rubber tail, but would like to hit right behind a seam/joint. I have a few of them and they aren't go to lures, so if I ruin one, no biggee. |
