Location: Alsip, Il | Here is the situation hopefully for the next two seasons, this will be my main fishing time. The reason is if I going fishing at these times is I pretty much now have to take my dad with me everywhere I go, which is good but it pretty much cuts out any early morning fishing or evening fishing. The reason is because he has dementcia a form of alzihmers, and with that he has sundown symdrome, which means in low-light periods he gets easyly confused and irriated. We can go a day during the week which should help, but what are your best tactics for during the heat of the day? Thanks, Al |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I do very well mid day throughout the year just hitting the areas I usually hit. Slop, weeedlines, stump fields, current breaks: all are good 24/7. The real trick is being where the fish are when they turn on. If the fish are suspended, mid day can be really productive. |

Location: Elkhart, IN | I agree with the suspended bite. Let those skiers and jet skis zip around you and fish off the breaks. I've done well in the middle of the day with the sun shining. Try a slow retrieved willowbuck, spinnerbait or bulldawg. Look for balls of shad on your graph. Fish above the shad.

Gotta agree with the previous posts... Only thing I can add is don't forget topwater during these hours. Too many anglers save these baits for early or late in the day, over the years I have had success using them during mid-day as well. Creepers, Doc's/Jackpot's, and Pacemakers in recent years have all produced during mid day periods.
Keep an open mind to mid-day fishing and you should do ok...
A big key will be to learn the locations of the muskies on the lakes you fish during these times... After that you can change baits pretty quickly to find what their preference is.

Location: Montgomery,Illinois | I would also agree with everyone about the suspended thing. I have had my best luck in the middle of the day with bucktails just working the shoreline. I have only caught 11 muskies but this was my first whole year. I have caught some in the upper 30 in class on the bucktails but also lost a 50in+ at 12:00. |
