Hey Guys,

My new F150 has a tow/haul button. My 2004 didn't have that button. I just had the ability to turn over drive on and off.

So, should I be using the tow/haul button every time I tow? Just heavy loads? Just when I am climbing hills?

Thanks - Midge

Use it whenever you are towing your boat or other loaded trailer. It changes the shift patterns and clutch pressures in the transmission.

Also use it when you have a heavy payload, not just towing.

I use it all the time towing. It also makes the truck engine brake when coming to a stop! Doesnt seem to effect mileage at all either.

Is this the same with the over drive on/off switch on a tundra I always just drive it without messing with it just curious

The Overdive on/off just keeps the transmission from shifting into overdrive gear. Not really the same thing. Had that on my 97 F150, and the Tow/Haul is entirely different, and better.
