Subject: Cortland Masterbraid Knots

Has anyone had issues tying knots with Cortland Masterbraid? I've been using a Palomar knot for braid for 20+ years now & never had problems with various other brands but tonight I could not get the knot to cinch down with the Cortland. Tried using a Palomar, Uni to Uni & Improved cinch & couldn't get any of them to cinch down with the Cortland. I figured since the line was so slippery (compared to others I’ve used) that cinching down knots would be a piece of cake but no such luck.

I just strung up a new reel with 65# master in bronze. Palomar cinched like a charm.

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid		I have used a Uni knot for many years and have not had an issue. In my experience a palomar works perfect as well, but I have found an improved clinch knot to slip with many types of braid.

Location: Minneapolis, MN		I use cortland and the only knot I tie is a palomar, never had any problems.

Location: Lake County Illinois		Always use Masterbraid with a palomar and never any issues,after tying I wet it a bit and cinch it down.

Learn the double palomar and be done with it.
