I intend to have a setup for 2 pounders, and will be using a TI XXXH 9' rod and a shimano calcutta D 401
One of the things that is the most annoying, as im assuming everyone here knows, is watching ur nicely priced big bait flying into orbit after you somehow got a birdnest

will 100lb braid be strong enough to prevent this from happening with 2 pounders or should i get something tougher?

A potato gun and a rope? Realistically if I wanted to cast 2 lbers, I would set the cast control tight to prevent backlashes and plan on servicing the reel more often...

I spent two days casting a 2 Pounder on Lake St. Clair with 100 lb Cortland Masterbriad and didn't have one issue.

100 lb braid works just fine.

I would have pike master set your reel beak to max if your casting 2lbs
