| I have 2 8 foot rods. 1 medium heavy and 1 heavy. I have a ambassador c4 reel. I am planning to buy a lexa reel. Would I get more bang for my buck with the 6.3 or 7.1 gearing on the medium heavy rod with the c4 on heavy rod, or leave the c4 on medium heavy and put a 5 on the the heavy rod? I use mostly bucktails, DC 8 occasional 10's, some suicks, grandmas and believers.
Thanks for any answers | |

| 6.3 for sure in my opinion, I can still crank in the bucktails but still have the line pull to use it for almost anything else | |

Location: Elk River, MN | You might enjoy having the 400PWR-P on the heavier rod, it makes pulling in large blades easy as can be. Regardless of the reel on a medium heavy rod pulling those bigger blades will give you a workout. It mostly depends on personal preference though, and at the end of the day I don't think you're going to be cursing the fishing gods because you picked "the wrong gear ratio"

Unless you are lefty, only right hand power version available.
